Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a Nutritionist?
According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (The Academy), Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentials in the U.S. are legally protected titles authorized to be used by nutrition and dietetics practitioners who have completed a specific didactic/academic program (Bachelor's or Master's degree) and supervised practice requirements, passed the national Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam, earned 75+ Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every 5 years, and maintained their requirements through the CDR of The Academy.
In some states, there are licensure laws that define the scope of practice for Nutritionists, but in general, they are individuals who may provide basic nutrition and food education. Nutritionists are not necessarily Dietitians, but Dietitians can always refer to themselves as Nutritionists.
What can I expect in a typical nutrition coaching session?
All nutrition service packages (except for the maintenance one) start with a 60-minute initial virtual nutrition assessment appointment. During this session, we will review your initial nutrition assessment form, discuss and set your nutrition- and health-related goals, and review your motivations for and the benefits of achieving these goals. Additional 30-minute follow-up sessions will be used to review your health habits, assess your progress, discuss any adjustments that can be made, and I will provide customized nutrition recommendations according to your needs. You'll have the opportunity to track your progress through the means that work best for you- body composition analysis scale available! All packages include coordination of progress and recommendations with Uzima Rejuvenation care team members.
What Is IV Therapy?
Intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy is an effective way to administer vitamins and minerals directly into your bloodstream. This approach bypasses the digestive system, allowing for 100% absorption of all nutrients, resulting in nutrients being immediately available for cellular usage.
How Does IV Therapy Work?
IV infusions utilize an IV drip to deliver nutrients directly into your bloodstream. A needle is inserted into a vein in your arm. The solution is then injected intravenously and allowed to travel through the body. When you receive an infusion, vitamins and minerals are delivered directly into your bloodstream, allowing for optimal absorption of these essential compounds.
What Are the Benefits of IV Therapy?
IV therapy is a convenient and efficient way to deliver vitamins and minerals directly into your bloodstream. This can be beneficial for many reasons, such as:
- Promoting recovery after intense exercise or decreased mobility
- Decreasing recovery time by boosting the immune system
- Increasing energy levels and decreasing fatigue
- Aiding in the management of chronic conditions
- Improving hair, skin, and nails
- And more!
Who Is IV Therapy For?
IV therapy is commonly used in the fight against colds, cases of flu, infections, muscle injuries, or chronic pain. Individuals who are regularly active or frequently under the weather may particularly benefit from this treatment. Anyone interested in boosting their immune system, increasing energy levels, and improving overall health may benefit from IV therapy.
Is IV Therapy Safe?
Yes! IV infusions are a safe and effective way to deliver vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and other compounds directly into the bloodstream. All infusions are administered by skilled IV specialists.
Are There Side Effects?
There are no substantial negative effects. If they do occur, they are typically minor and short-lived. Some rare, minor side effects, such as bruising or bleeding at the IV site, a warming or cooling sensation in the arm, chest, or stomach, or having a vitamin smell in your urine can occur. Our qualified specialists are educated to handle all adverse effects that may occur.
What Is a Treatment Session Like?
The majority of our IV drips take anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes. You may rest, recline, read, listen to music on your headphones, or just relax and take time for yourself during this time.
You may relax in one of our comfortable chairs or loungers and take advantage of the advantages of vitamin therapy after the treatment has begun. While the IV is infusing, you might feel a warming sensation in your arm, chest, or abdomen, as well as a taste sensation from some of the vitamins and minerals contained in the therapy.
